Science of Cellulite
Many people have concerns related to their body and skin. For women one of the main causes of anxiety is weight and more particularly cellulite.
Cellulite is a common body characteristic, which is marked by the lumps of fat on the skin. It is also refereed as cottage cheese skin or orange peel syndrome. Cellulite takes place more in women than men where the dimples are formed on abdomen, thighs and buttocks.
The term cellulite came into being in 1973, which referred to the puckered or dimpled skin usually formed around thighs, hips and butts. The appearance of cellulite is more often seen on women than men because of the variation in the allocation of fat, muscles and tissues on the skin. Even though hormones of women can be held responsible for adding this fat distribution, still cellulite cannot be cured by hormone therapy.
For society’s rationale, cellulite is merely a lumpy substance that bears a resemblance to cottage cheese and is normally found on the abdomen, thighs and butts. In the point of fact, cellulite is a collection of fat that pushes in opposition to the connective tissues under a person’s skin. This results in puckering of the skin and looks lumpy.
One can check for cellulite by pinching the skin of upper thigh or the skin around buttocks. If you observe an uneven surface or formation of lumps, then perhaps you have cellulite. Cellulite is actually a very familiar condition. Many girls and women develop cellulites on their bodies. It is also seen in men as well.
There are many factors responsible for the development of cellulite on the skin. Age, gender, body type, skin thickness, genes, amount of fat are all the factors that help in determining the amount of cellulite generated on a person’s body.
One cannot deny that cellulite is quite difficult to get rid of. Certainly there are ways through which it can be minimized, but not completely removed. There is no specific treatment or medicine that will speedily drive away the cellulite. There are many products and salons available in the market that promises to remove cellulite, but in actual fact the cure is only temporary. Massaging can cause swelling to a certain extent, which temporarily lessens the appearance of cellulite on the skin. In addition, radical treatments are available such as liposuction, where the fat is removed surgically. However, these methods are also temporary and expensive as well.
As a matter of fact, the best way to reduce the appearance of cellulite is by trimming down the overall fat of the body. By reducing the calorie intake and by exercising regularly, a person can not only alter the size of body but can also change the visibility of cellulite.
